Ross Heywood is a Principal Project Architect and Project Leader at Lyons. He has been instrumental in the design and delivery of significant public buildings and institutional projects, including the award-winning Swanston Academic Building (RMIT), the Dandenong Municipal Building & Civic Square, NeW Space (University of Newcastle) and Midland Campus (Curtin University).
Ross specialises in design leadership and the briefing, coordination and delivery of large-scale public projects in the education, research and civic sectors. His extensive experience has enabled him to gain a strong understanding of multifaceted programmatic briefs and complex stakeholder engagements. He has successfully delivered contemporary workspaces, innovative pedagogical learning environments and built outcomes designed to exceed community needs now and for decades to come.
His dedication to public architecture and its outcomes extends beyond the Lyons studio. Outside the practice Ross has tutored the next generation of architecture graduates at RMIT, Monash University and University of Canberra, and he is a regular guest at architecture design studios.
