Edward Berry is a Principal at Lyons and a Project Architect skilled in the management, documentation and delivery of major, multimillion dollar public and institutional projects. His consultative approach and dedication to superior client outcomes is underpinned by technical expertise and an ongoing investigation into how the built environment can enhance the human experience. A natural leader, Ed’s project list demonstrates his ability to guide and manage the needs of project stakeholders at all levels—from senior client representatives, collaborators and subconsultants to students and graduates of architecture. Not only has he led award-winning projects across the education sector, Ed is also the practice leader for digital technology within the studio and has been instrumental in the adoption of emerging technologies to enhance visualisation, collaboration, management and documentation.

“I believe that architecture has the power to challenge people’s assumptions and invite a reconsideration in the way they use and inhabit space – enriching daily moments into memorable experiences. This happens best when design is able to engage with ideas relevant to its social context and invite people to think with a different perspective.”

Design Philosophy

“Our projects provide me the fabulous opportunity to work along side clients who are recognised experts in their field; where we work together, with our different expertise and experience, to investigate exciting and innovative futures for their projects. This journey can be long and complex and I take great personal satisfaction from the pride our clients show in the finished project and their contribution to it.”

Working with you

“Large projects are a complex ecosystem with a variety of stakeholders, all with different perspectives and expertise. I enjoy acting as the glue that keeps it all together, being able to guide the project through the myriad of detailed decisions while never loosing sight of the bigger picture.”
